The importance of tropical forests, with their extraordinarily rich biodiversity, and regulatory influence on climate, is now well recognized.

Nevertheless, more than half the world’s tropical forests have already disappeared.

The remaining are being destroyed at the rate of one hectare (2.47 acres) every two seconds.

The Cabo San Francisco Foundation, established in 1994, is actively committed to preserve the biodiversity of tropical flora and fauna through direct action in the forest area involving local people in order to keep sustainable development.

It favors medium-sized projects in which donations from the public are invested in specific actions with measurable results.

The Foundation supervises all projects directly on a permanent basis.

Our action concentrates in the area of Esmeraldas, Ecuador, where forests are disappearing at an abnormally high rate.

For this purpose, FCSF raises funds in the form of donations, partnership and membership contributions.

If you too, decide to support us in our long-term goal, please join our members or sponsor 1 há of tropical rain forest.
